Tulum offers the perfect combination of total relaxation, tranquility and seclusion, yet can fill your day with the many interesting and rich activities in the area.

 

If you are interested is sightseeing, you should definitely visit Mayan ruins, but take a morning tour to free up your afternoon for sunbathing and swimming in the sea. You can also try snorkeling at one of the many Cenotes (subterranean swimming holes of the Riviera Maya), or take a canal trip through the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve to discover thousands of species of flora and fauna.

- Cenotes: the most popular ones are Cenote Dos Ojos, Gran Cenote, Nicte-Ha or Cenote Caracol (20min to 1hr drive from the main hotels).

 

 

Other noteworthy Tulum activities:

 

- Wellness: visit our favorite spa at Yäan Wellness (across the street from Nomade hotel) or try sessions of Yoga and Meditation at Nomade hotel.

- Mayan rituals: experience ancient Mayan rituals such as the Cacao Ceremony or the Temazcal (ancient sweat lodge) with a shaman at Nomade hotel.

- Water Sports: try Kit surfing or paddle boarding at Chiringuito hotel or Soliman Bay.

- Shopping: look for the many lovely boutique vendors that sell hippie-inspired and trendy wear along the Tulum beach strip. You can find more artisanal items at stores in the old town of Tulum.
