Tulum is a town on the Caribbean coastline of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, known for

its beaches and well-preserved ruins of an ancient Mayan port city

Getting to Tulum:

Tulum is located about 1 hour 45 min drive south of Cancun.

There are direct flights to Cancun International Airport (airport code CUN)

from major US and European cities.

We recommend that you can contact our wedding planner at concierge@vikim2019.com or your Hotel to arrange transportation from the airport to Tulum prior to your arrival.

Getting around:

Taxis are the main and most convenient mode of transportation in Tulum.

You can easily find taxi stands outside hotels, at beaches and near the main attractions. Expect to pay a minimum fare of around MEX$100 for a 5-km ride, but always agree

on the price with the driver before getting in a taxi.

Cycling is also a very common way to get around Tulum and many hotels

have bicycles available for their guests.

Weather:

Tulum has a tropical savanna climate, with average temperatures ranging from 23ºC/73ºF and 29ºC/84ºF in April, with the humidity level reaching around 80%-85%.

Expect the sun to be strong during peak day time

(don’t forget sun block when sightseeing or sunbathing).

Other Tips:

- Lifestyle: Locals have high respect for the wildlife! Tulum has minimal infrastructure and most hotels rooms are built on the beautiful white sand. So expect to be surrounded by sand at all times. For ladies, we recommend to wear sandals and platform heels as you will certainly have to walk over sand at some point during your day or evening.

- Wireless Networks: While the majority of Tulum hotels have good WIFI networks, expect the wireless telephone network to be very inconsistent in the Tulum beach area.

- Languages: Most of the Mexicans working in the tourist industry speak/understand English,

but the primary language is Spanish.

- Electricity: 110 V (American plug)

- Currency: Mexican peso (MEX$). 1USD=20MEX$, 1EUR=22MEX$.

We recommend that you get cash from Cancun Airport. Alternatively there are some ATMs in Tulum as well, but with higher commission rates. While credit cards are widely accepted in Tulum, there can be times when credit card machines do not work because of weak network connectivity.

- International dialing codes: +52 984

- Emergency telephone number: 911
